One quite unusual theme that cropped up a few times in 2012 was festivals. It makes sense as like a wedding, festivals are a celebration and party with lots of people together enjoying the same event. Hannah & Craig are into their festivals. A lot. They've been going to them together for years and even got engaged at Glastonbury. It was something they really wanted to integrate somehow into their wedding at the beautiful Loseley Park in Surrey. Checkout the table plan at the end. Great idea!
As with a lot of my clients, the first time we met (other than on email, phone or skype) was on the wedding day itself. Hannah was getting ready with her bridesmaids and family at The Manor House in Godalming. After some time with them and finding out about the festival connection (we got on straight away), I headed to Loseley Park to meet Craig and his groomsmen.
The ceremony room at Loseley is a spectacular mix of dark wood, carvings, paintings and vaulted windows. It looks stunning and the window at the end of the room adds light in just the right way. The rest of the house is very similar with the reception room we used for group photographs another really interesting backdrop.
It's the gardens that really make the venue however and on a perfectly balanced day at the end of June (not too hot, not too bright), they looked beautiful for drinks and music outdoors. Some great portraits of Hannah & Craig together outside, and then everyone headed to the Barn for dinner. After a few images to capture the start of the meal (and the delicious looking cake), my day was finished and I left them to the party.
