August had it's fair share of rain, so any day when it was overcast and not pelting it down was taken as a positive. I met with Emma at Lanes House in West Coker. It's a boutique hotel with individual apartments providing an ideal space for a relaxing morning ahead of the wedding. When I arrived at St Mary's Church in Stoke-sub-Hamdon, there was a long queue of guests all lining up outside. That's a first for me, and made for a nice shot! Although I was restricted to the back of the church, often the best view is from back here. In fact I would choose it for some of the key moments such as the first kiss.
A short drive (spirited, following the best man driving Matt's pride and joy Subaru) got us to Brympton House in time for Emma & Matt to arrive. Brympton is an elegant country manor with plenty of outdoor space for the reception. Looking out over the lake, the weather was kind enough for Emma & Matt and their guests to make the most of the beautiful surroundings.
Following dinner, some intensely emotional speeches finished the proceedings in the main building, before the party transferred to the coach house for the evening entertainments of a casino and disco room. Emma & Matt's friends had built som pretty incredible lights as a wedding gift which were setup alongside the dancefloor. It's the first time I've seen these and they looked very cool before the party went on through the night.
