Caroline & James' wedding took place on a scorcher of a day (yes we do get them sometimes) back in September. Typically British weather that brought one of the hottest days towards the end of summer but there you go. I met with Caroline in the morning who was getting ready at James' family home in Little Bookham, Surrey. This was also where the reception was taking place, and with James round the corner at the pub, and the church a short walk back the other way, the day had a very local feel to it.
As I would discover throughout the day, James' family is well known in Surrey for their own brand of sausages - the famous Porky Whites. There were no pigs on the farm this day, but they featured in other ways, not least the delicious wedding breakfast!
The church in Little Bookham is beautiful. James' family has a long history of connections with the church here which added to the intimate and friendly feel of the day with Caroline's family joining from Scotland.
Following the ceremony it was back to the farm for drinks, food and dancing in the marquee. We also took time for a few photos of Caroline & James around the lake together. James told me that this had previously been the location for his 30th birthday which by his account was a slightly more raucous affair! It is a really beautiful spot and it was a privilege for me to be able to record these images and the rest of the day.
