New website, new blog - time to start getting some of this year's weddings up!
Anna & Matt have already appeared on the blog once during their engagement session in Dorset and also in one of my PhotoFilms. It's great to be able to now share their wedding at Stoke Place in Buckinghamshire.
Full day wedding coverage lets me capture and convey the complete story of a wedding, and I started the day with Anna and her bridesmaids getting ready. They were all completely relaxed, composed and chilled out - Anna in particular. The rooms at Stoke Place have beautiful high windows and really lovely light for photography.
The weather was my absolute ideal to work in: warm, spring sunshine, with beautiful high clouds to add some feature to the sky. Perfect for an afternoon reception on the lawns, and providing some welcome shade just at the right time for our bride and groom's portrait session.
The speeches were all brilliant. When I find myself laughing behind the camera, it's a good measure that they've hit the right spot of humou. Just the right side of close-to-the-mark from Best Man Gareth - top stuff!
After dinner and speeches, the light presented an opportunity for another couple of beautiful portraits. You just have to make the most of opportunities like that.
Anna & Matt had one more surprise in store. Now of course fireworks at a wedding are great, but what is even better than that? Fireworks set to a Drum & Bass soundtrack, specifically Changing by Sigma.
The sight of them both dancing away whilst the sky was lit up at the end of their wedding day, is an image that I won't forget for a while. An epic end to a beautiful day. (Check out the video clip right at the end of this post).
